Dear Diary,
The ground is frozen solid now, and it feels like spring is a far-off dream. The long, dark nights make the short days seem even shorter, but Sister Mary Claire's meditation today reminded me that even in the cold and darkness, God is preparing something beautiful. Just as the earth will open in spring to bring forth life, my heart needs to stay open for Jesus to bring His grace.
I don’t want my heart to harden like the frozen ground outside. Sister Mary Claire said that little sins, like being impatient or selfish, can make it hard for grace to grow. I want my heart to be like good soil, ready for the Savior to plant His love. Mini, bless her little heart, doesn’t seem to mind the weather at all. She stays cozy and cheerful, even in the cold.
I can’t believe the second Sunday of Advent is just around the corner. I want to prepare for Jesus’ coming with love and joy, even while we wait in this dark season. Spring will come in its time, and so will He.
Love, Kathy
