This morning started with Sister Mary Claire and me greeting everyone at St. Mary’s before Mass. Mini stood proudly beside us, wagging her little bottom as parishioners stopped to say hello. Some patted her head, and a few joked that she’s the friendliest greeter ever. I love seeing all the familiar faces and knowing we’re part of such a loving community.
During Mass, Father LeRoy continued his talk about prayer. He said prayer is like staying close to Jesus, just like you’d stay close to a good friend. What really stayed with me was when he said the Mass is the greatest prayer because it’s not just remembering Jesus’ sacrifice—it’s being a part of it, offering ourselves to God along with Him. It made me feel thankful to be there, praying in such a special way.
After Mass, we went to the Breakfast Club to deliver eggs. Hayden, Caleb, Sasha, and Max were all working in the kitchen when we arrived. They were so cheerful and happy to see us. Max teased me, saying Mini should come greet their customers next! Caleb handed Sister Mary Claire a little recipe note for their scrambled eggs, saying, “This is how we made them today—it’s worth a try!” Here’s what the note said:
Breakfast Club Scrambled Eggs
6 fresh eggs
¼ cup heavy cream
A pinch of salt
1 tablespoon butter
Fresh herbs like parsley or chives, chopped.
¼ cup heavy cream
A pinch of salt
1 tablespoon butter
Fresh herbs like parsley or chives, chopped.
Whisk the eggs, cream, and salt in a bowl until smooth.
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Pour in the egg mixture and stir gently until soft and creamy.
Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
They served the eggs with thick toast and jam, and they tasted amazing. Sister Mary Claire said we’ll definitely try this recipe at home soon. It was fun talking with the cousins—they’re always so full of ideas for the Breakfast Club, and their happiness is contagious.
Now the day is winding down. Mini is curled up under my bed, and Sister Mary Claire is reading by the fire. I’ll finish with a little prayer:

Evening Prayer:
“Dear Jesus, thank You for bringing me close to You through the Mass. Thank You for our kind neighbors and friends at the Breakfast Club. Help me to always pray with a loving heart and to follow Your example of generosity and kindness. Bless Sister Mary Claire, Mini, and everyone we love Amen.”
Goodnight,
Kathy
